Meet Dr. Meints

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and am an avid Chicago sports fan. I spent 10 years in Indianapolis before moving to Boston in 2017. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, young son, and dog. I love playing and coaching softball, traveling, exploring wine and food. As a new-ish mom, I’m lucky to see the world through a new, mindful lens everyday and love getting to focus on my value of playfulness.

I completed my Bachelor’s in Psychology at Butler University (go Dawgs!) and my graduate work at IUPUI (no, it’s not pronounced oooo-eee-pooo-eee). I moved to the Boston area in 2017 to complete my internship at VA Boston and then moved to Brigham and Women’s where I completed a fellowship before joining the faculty in 2020.
As an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School, I’m committed to research that aims to prevent and treat chronic pain using nonpharmacologic interventions. I am currently funded by the National Institutes of Health for a project that examines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (a mind-body intervention) for preventing chronic pain and long-term opioid use after spine surgery. In this role, I also have the honor of teaching and training future pain clinicians and researchers.
